Rivah Retreat is a one-of-a-kind luxury getaway tucked away on the pristine North Fork of the Shenandoah River. An expansive retreat and custom cabin spread over six acres of riverfront property located just 90 minutes from the White House. With modern amenities, hot tub, gas fireplace, spacious elevated deck, board games, movies, and so much more! Enjoy fly fishing from the private riverbank, quiet walks, abundant wildlife, smores at the firepit and relaxing. The property is best for adults.

Good to know

Located on a quiet private road the property is wooded with a wide trail that winds down to the private riverfront where you can fish and picnic. Abundant wildlife visits the property including deer, rabbits, foxes, wild turkeys, skunks, groundhogs, woodpeckers, hawks and the occasional black bear. Inside the retreat building are two bedrooms, two full luxury baths with walk in showers, a modern kitchen and a main room with a gas fireplace. The baths have numerous amenities as well as robes and slippers. There is a mini fridge/freezer in the kitchen. There is also a stocked beverage refrigerator by the fireplace. An abundant selection of breakfast foods and snacks are provided. Outside is a large wrap around deck overlooking the river, a patio with an adjacent hot tub and a firepit. The property has a full house backup generator to provide electricity in case of power outages. While the retreat feels remote it is only a ten minute drive from the welcoming main street of historic Woodstock. Here you can find charming shops, galleries and restaurants. Within a 15 mile drive are numerous wineries, antique stores and parks.

Other Details to Note

Parking is in a dedicated area on the road, it is a 120 foot walk down a steep gravel path to the retreat. A wagon is provided to carry your bags. This property may not be a good fit for guests with mobility challenges. The cabin has well water. in October 2024 we installed a new water filtering system that addresses the sulfur smells that sometimes occurred. Bottled water is provided for drinking, cooking and making coffee. Firewood and propane for the grill are provided. The path to the river is a sloping old tractor path with an elevation drop of about 50 feet. Depending on your pace it may take several minutes to walk this path. Due to the wildlife do not store food or coolers outside.

I got the Airbnb for a nice getaway for me and my boyfriend for his birthday. When we had arrived a tree had fallen due to a storm the day before on the pathway to get to the Airbnb, but I let Matthew know and he responded quickly and got someone to cut up the tree and removed less then the estimated time he had given us. Everything else was amazing, the jacuzzi, the black stone we got to grill on. Definitely a 10/10, highly recommend to stay. Airbnb is also stocked with things you might forget to pack like little essentials and especially girl things (which is always a plus for me) We loved it so much! Would definitely make another trip out of it!

We had a lovely stay at the cabin. It was tucked away in the woods but was less than 4 miles away to town. The cabin was very well stocked with everything we needed. It was very cute and cozy. A couch to snuggle up on would have been nice but the chairs in the living room were comfortable. The views were wonderful and so much wildlife. It was quiet and nice to listen to the birds, the river, and the cows mooing from across the river. Matthew was very responsive and even offered some recommendations for food when we first arrived. I would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful riverside location. The place was very well equipped with everything we needed( and more!) and was peaceful and comfortable. Matthew was very responsive with checkin /check out and my questions. The setting on the river is especially lovely. We hiked to Big Schloss during our stay and then enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the Woodstock Cafe nearby. It seems like it is a local favorite. The hot tub and gas fireplace were perfect after a cold day of hiking. I liked it so much I’ll be back again for a longer stay when it’s warmer so I can enjoy the deck and river. Highly recommend.

What a lovely place with very thoughtful hosts! There are so many aspects that stand out about this listing. The property is gorgeous. The house is quaint and super cozy. We will have to come back to make more use of all it has to offer - like the spacious deck with heated lamps. The river is a beautiful backdrop against the property. As everyone mentioned- there are so many thoughtful amenities- from snacks, meal contributions, s'more kits, robes, slippers, TVs in each room, board games, condiments, motion lights along the path to the river (such attention to detail!). We also greatly enjoyed the jacuzzi and firepits! The cherry on top was the private riverfront access with its own chairs and fire pit. It was so serene, peaceful and breathtaking to be surrounded by nature with such solitude. Loved the good workout as well going back up to the property. Would love to visit again in warmer weather!

A beautiful, cozy cabin with a gorgeous view! The house was stocked with snacks and other little things that could be easy to forget! I especially appreciated the record player with the wide variety of different vinyls, and the hot tub was perfect for the cold weather! Felt right at home, would definitely return and recommend staying here! 😊

This was a wonderful cabin! It was incredibly cozy and well stocked with everything you could need. The fire pits and hot tub were incredible, and the space was clean!
